ULSAN, South Korea (Kyodo) -- Taisei Miyashiro grabbed a second-half brace as Japan's Vissel Kobe earned a 2-0 win at South Korea's Ulsan in the Asian Champions League Elite on Wednesday.
Kobe moved to seven points from three matches, while two-time Asian champions Ulsan fell to an 0-3 start to the ACLE group stage without scoring a single goal.
Miyashiro opened the scoring with a solo effort in the 48th minute and doubled the lead 25 minutes later at Ulsan Complex Stadium.
The 24-year-old striker got the ball from defender Yun Il Lok and dribbled into the box before firing a shot past goalkeeper Jo Hyeon Woo for a 1-0 lead.
In the 73rd minute, Miyashiro headed in a cross from former Japan forward Yoshinori Muto.
At Shanghai Stadium, China's Shanghai Shenhua capitalized on a numerical advantage to beat 10-man Kawasaki Frontale 2-0.
The J-League club's Marcinho was shown a straight red in the fifth minute for violent conduct. Wang Haijian opened the scoring in the 24th minute and Andre Luis got Shanghai's second from the penalty spot in stoppage time.
The top eight clubs from both the East and West regions, each with 12 teams, advance to the round of 16.
