Nikkei jumps over 2% as yen weakens on early US election results

TOKYO (Kyodo) -- The Nikkei stock index soared 2 percent Wednesday morning, as exporters were lifted by a weaker yen after reports that early exit polls showed Donald Trump leading in some key swing states in the U.S. presidential election.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 866.54 points, or 2.25 percent, from Tuesday to 39,341.44.
