Baseball: Japan Series champ BayStars to open 2025 season vs. Dragons

TOKYO (Kyodo) -- The Japan Series champion DeNA BayStars will open their 2025 season with a three-game series against the Chunichi Dragons starting March 28, the Central League said Wednesday.
The other March 28 CL matchups will be the Yomiuri Giants against the Yakult Swallows and the Hiroshima Carp against the Hanshin Tigers.
Each team plays 143 regular-season games, including 18 interleague ones.
The two-game All-Star series will be played at Kyocera Dome Osaka on July 23 and at Yokohama Stadium on July 24.
The Climax Series playoffs begin on Oct. 11 for both the CL and Pacific League, followed by the Japan Series, which begins on Oct. 25 at the PL team's stadium.
The PL's season schedule will be announced at a later date.
In 2024, the BayStars won the Japan Series after bouncing back from a third-place finish in the regular season.
