YOKOHAMA (Kyodo) -- Striker Anderson Lopes hit a brace as Yokohama F Marinos thumped 10-man Buriram United of Thailand 5-0 at home in the Asian Champions League league stage on Wednesday.
Marinos moved up to seven points with their second win in four games, while Buriram fell to their first defeat of the tournament this term as they also remained on seven points at Nissan Stadium.
Kenta Inoue opened the scoring in style in the 11th minute when he cut in from the left, skipped past two players and bent his shot low inside the far post from inside the box.
Buriram were dealt a blow when left-back Sasalak Haiprakhon was shown a straight red card for a dangerous tackle in the 27th minute, and the visitors gave away a penalty a minute into the first-half stoppage time after Guilherme Bissoli handled a corner, leaving Lopes to score from the spot.
Marinos still had time to make it 3-0 before halftime as Buriram keeper Neil Etheridge fumbled a low left-wing cross from Hijiri Kato into his own net.
Lopes slotted home seven minutes into the second half after a cross from the right was not cleared, and a flowing passing move down the same flank saw Asahi Uenaka tap home in the 66th minute to complete the scoring.
Former Marinos man Theerathon Bunmathan played the whole match for Buriram.
