TOKYO -- Popular British rock group Oasis, which recently reunited after disbanding in 2009 due to the Gallagher brothers' feud, announced they will play in Japan during a 2025 tour via the group's official X (formerly Twitter) account and elsewhere on Nov. 22.
The band will perform at Tokyo Dome on Oct. 25 and 26 next year in its 12th visit to Japan as Oasis, and their first in 16 years since 2009. On the morning of Nov. 22, the band issued a comment stating, "People of Japan. We haven't forgotten you. Oasis will see you next year." Pre-sales for the concerts started at noon on the same day, and tickets cost 75,000 yen (around $490) for VIP seats, 33,000 yen (about $210) for SS seats and 12,000 yen (some $80) for the cheapest B seats, among other ticket categories.
Tickets for all 38 shows Oasis booked for its 2025 international tour -- including in London, Los Angeles, Melbourne and Sao Paulo -- have already sold out.
Oasis debuted in 1994 and is centered around the Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam, who grew up in Manchester. Older brother Noel is the guitarist and the primary songwriter, and Liam is the lead vocalist. Known for hit songs including "Wonderwall" and "Don't Look Back in Anger," the band has sold 75 million albums worldwide and more than 4 million copies in Japan alone.
In August 2009, Oasis broke up after a backstage fight between the Gallagher brothers during a concert in Paris. However, in a global announcement on Aug. 27 this year, it was revealed that the band would reunite and perform live, including in London.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the band's debut. In celebration, the Roppongi Museum in the capital's Minato Ward held the Live Forever: Oasis 30th Anniversary Exhibition until Nov. 23. Items such as handwritten lyrics, guitars, and past posters with the band's logo were on display.
The band's official social media account on Nov. 20 showed photos of the Gallagher brothers along with the caption "FRIDAY 22ND NOVEMBER" regarding their upcoming visit to Japan next year.
