BEIJING (Kyodo) -- China's executive vice premier, Ding Xuexiang, met with former Tokyo Gov. Yoichi Masuzoe and other participants of an international conference in Beijing on Monday and vowed to further promote the country's opening-up policy, according to Masuzoe.

Ding, ranked No. 6 in the ruling Communist Party's apex of power, told the group of politicians and experts that the world's second-largest economy will focus on high-quality development and share growth opportunities with other countries, Chinese state-run media said.

The three-day conference will discuss Chinese and global economies through Wednesday in southern China's Guangzhou.
