Football: Kashiwa defender Hiroki Sekine transfers to Reims in France

TOKYO (Kyodo) -- J-League first-division club Kashiwa Reysol announced the transfer Sunday of defender Hiroki Sekine to Reims in France's Ligue 1.
The 22-year-old right-back was a member of the Japan men's football team at the Paris Olympics last summer and received his first senior national call-up in October.
Sekine, a native of Shizuoka Prefecture, joined Kashiwa at the start of last year out of Takushoku University. Standing at 187 centimeters, he has a large stature for a fullback.
"I will keep showing what I've learned at Kashiwa, while doing my best to reach an ever higher stage," Sekine said through the J-League club.
Sekine joins Japan internationals Junya Ito and Keito Nakamura in the Reims squad.
