OSAKA (Kyodo) -- The official commemorative guidebook of the World Exposition in Osaka went on sale on Wednesday ahead of the event's opening on April 13 on the artificial island of Yumeshima in Osaka Bay.
The Japanese version of the 360-page book, priced at 3,080 yen ($21), is available at bookstores and online and will also be sold at the venue after the Expo opens.
The English version is scheduled to be released on March 27, according to the organizers.
The guidebook not only introduces pavilions of participating nations, regions and organizations but also lists the "national day" and "special day" events to be hosted by each.
It also explains how to purchase a ticket and offers information on restaurants and souvenir shops.
A visitor target of 28.2 million is set for the April 13-Oct. 13 event, but advance ticket sales stood at just 8.2 million as of March 12, with many pavilions yet to be completed.
