ST. MORITZ, Switzerland (Kyodo) -- Japan's Ikuma Horishima claimed silver after pulling out of the men's dual moguls final Friday at the freestyle skiing and snowboarding world championships, falling short in his bid to bring home two gold medals.
Two days after clinching gold in moguls, the 27-year-old freestyle skier twisted his left knee in the semifinals of the dual moguls and did not finish the final, handing victory to Canada's Mikael Kingsbury.
"It's different to coming second in a race," Horishima said. "I'm disappointed at getting injured."
In other results from the championships in St. Moritz, Switzerland, Ryo Sugai won the men's ski cross bronze, earning Japan's first-ever medal in the event.
Japanese snowboarders Kokomo Murase and Reira Iwabuchi secured silver and bronze, respectively, in the women's slopestyle final won by reigning Olympic champion Zoi Sadowski-Synnott of New Zealand.
