Basketball: Hachimura returns to starting lineup in win for Lakers

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (Kyodo) -- Power forward Rui Hachimura made his return to the Los Angeles Lakers starting lineup Wednesday in a 120-119 win over the Indiana Pacers.
The Japanese national basketball team star contributed 14 points in 28 minutes at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in his first start since coming back from a 12-game absence with patellar tendinopathy in his left knee.
Head coach JJ Redick's team snapped a three-game skid with the win, which came after LeBron James made a buzzer-beating tip-in.
Hachimura hit all four of his three-point attempts, including a pair back-to-back late in the fourth quarter to keep his team in the contest.
"JJ told me right before I get in, he said I'm going to get the big shots, so stay ready," Hachimura told broadcaster Spectrum SportsNet after the game.
Luka Doncic scored a game-high 34 points for the 44-28 Lakers, who sit fourth in the NBA's Western Conference.
Hachimura was initially on a minutes restriction Saturday as he made his return off the bench from the roughly month-long absence.
