Baseball: Carp score season high in 12-3 slaying of Giants

HIROSHIMA (Kyodo) -- Kaito Kozono had four RBIs as the Hiroshima Carp racked up their biggest run total so far this season in a 12-3 win against the Central League-leading Yomiuri Giants on Friday.
Hiroshima's blazing batting lineup amassed 15 hits, 10 of them against Yomiuri starter Shosei Togo (0-2), who lasted just 3-1/3 innings at Mazda Stadium.
Masato Morishita (2-1) got the win after throwing six innings of three-run ball in which he struck out eight and allowed four hits.
The Giants were first on the board through Takuya Kai's RBI single in the top of the second before the Carp turned things around in the home half of the inning.
Ryosuke Kikuchi drove in two runs with a line-drive double to left and Tsubasa Aizawa made it 3-1 with his RBI single.
The Carp broke it open with a seven-run fourth inning in which Kozono and Shota Suekane delivered back-to-back two-RBI doubles. Kozono drove in another two runs with a line-drive single in the fifth.
