Baseball: Kay throws gem, DeNA holds on to beat Yakult

YOKOHAMA (Kyodo) -- Koki Kajiwara and Toshiro Miyazaki drove in two runs apiece to back Anthony Kay's strong start as the DeNA BayStars beat the Yakult Swallows 5-4 on Saturday.
The Swallows rallied for four runs and had runners on the corners with two outs in the top of the ninth inning before backup catcher Naoki Matsumoto flied out for the final out of the game at Yokohama Stadium.
DeNA took a 2-0 lead in the third inning on RBI singles by Kajiwara and Miyazaki. The BayStars extended their lead to five through the sixth.
Kay (1-0) struck out nine and allowed only two hits over seven scoreless innings. Peter Lambert (1-1) took the loss.
Among Saturday's other games, the Seibu Lions edged the Nippon Ham Fighters 2-1, snapping their winning streak at four games.
The Orix Buffaloes handed the Rakuten Eagles their fifth consecutive loss with a 4-2 victory.
