HYUGA, Miyazaki -- Delicate blue-purple nemophila flowers, also known as "baby blue eyes," are at their best at a park in this southwestern Japan city. The flowers at Kanegahama View Park, along with the clear blue sky, ocean and palm trees, create a breathtaking tropical landscape bathed in spring light.

Located within Nippo Kaigan Quasi-National Park, the area is surrounded by many excellent surf spots. At the view park, around 10,000 nemophila plants, along with a pink variety of primroses and yellow canola flowers, adorn the area around California fan palm trees, creating a vibrant display of three-colored blossoms.

The local Kanegahama Sonen-kai association and the Hiraiwa community development council manage the Miyazaki Prefecture-owned view park, planting seasonal flowers as part of efforts to enhance the landscape. Yohei Kodama, 47, chairperson of the association, encourages visitors, saying, "We hope people can soothe their minds by viewing the flowers and scenery."

This scenic view is expected to last until the end of April.
