NEW YORK (Kyodo) -- Japan men's basketball team guard Yuki Kawamura became a free agent Monday after the Memphis Grizzlies did not make him a qualifying offer.
The 173-centimeter playmaker spent the 2024-25 season, his first in the NBA, on a two-way contract that divided his time between the Grizzlies and the Memphis Hustle, their affiliate in the developmental G League.
He averaged 1.6 points and 0.9 assists per game over 22 NBA games for the Grizzlies. In 24 games for the Hustle, he averaged 12.4 points and 7.8 assists.
As an unrestricted free agent, Kawamura is free to negotiate with any team.
