TOKYO -- The rainy season appears to have ended in the Kanto-Koshin region of eastern Japan, including Tokyo, as well as in the Hokuriku region along the Sea of Japan and the southern Tohoku region in northeastern Japan, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) announced July 18.
The apparent end of the rainy season comes one day earlier than normal for the Kanto-Koshin region, five days earlier for the Hokuriku region, and six days earlier for the southern Tohoku region.
The rainy season ended the same day last year in the Kanto-Koshin region. Compared to 2024, the rainy season ended 13 days earlier in the Hokuriku region, and 14 days earlier in the southern Tohoku region.
Clear weather with rising temperatures is expected over the next one-week period mainly on Japan's main island Honshu, and the JMA is calling for people to be on their guard against heatstroke.
