Football: Injured Japan, Feyenoord striker Ayase Ueda to miss rest of 2024

BERLIN (Kyodo) -- Japan striker Ayase Ueda is out for the rest of 2024 due to a thigh injury, his Dutch club Feyenoord announced Monday.
The 26-year-old will miss Japan's two away trips in the 2026 World Cup final-round qualifiers this month, to Indonesia on Nov. 15 and China four days later.
Ueda, who has three goals in the Dutch Eredivisie this season, was hurt and replaced during the first half of Feyenoord's 2-0 home loss to Ajax last Wednesday.
He netted in the Champions League for the first time during their 3-1 win at Benfica on Oct. 23.
