A Steller's sea eagle with the nickname "the grandma of Mount Yamamoto" flew to the mountain in the city of Nagahama, Shiga Prefecture, on November 21. Steller's sea eagles are designated as a national "natural monument" in Japan. This eagle was identified from the patterns on the body as the one who visits the 324-meter mountain every year for winter. It was first seen in the 1997-98 season. This is her 28th winter journey there.
