LONDON (Kyodo) -- Celtic forward Daizen Maeda extended his scoring streak to three straight Scottish Premiership football matches with a late goal in his team's 5-2 win away to St. Mirren on Saturday.

The Japan international made it 4-2 for the visitors in the 88th minute at St. Mirren Park, setting himself up with a deft first touch off Yang Hyun Jun's ball over the top before slotting into the bottom left corner.

The goal was Maeda's 12th in the league and 26th across all competitions this season.

Yang bagged a brace for Brendan Rodgers' side, with Samurai Blue midfielder Reo Hatate assisting on the South Korea international's first goal that gave Celtic a 3-2 lead in the 68th minute.

Defending champions Celtic hold a 16-point lead over second-place Rangers after 29 matches.
