CINCINNATI, Ohio (Kyodo) -- Yoshinobu Yamamoto worked seven scoreless innings as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Cincinnati Reds 4-0 on Tuesday.
Yamamoto (14-8) allowed one hit and two walks while striking out seven at Great American Ball Park.
"I stayed calm even though I didn't have a great feel for my pitches early on and fell behind in the count," Yamamoto said.
"I focused on repeating my delivery and was able to keep them in check. I pitched aggressively with confidence."
Dodgers two-way player Shohei Ohtani, who has been on the injured list since last week due to multiple physical issues, resumed swinging on Tuesday, manager Dave Roberts said before the game.
Roberts said he did not know when Ohtani would return to action, adding that he expects the Japanese slugger to be back for "some regular-season games."
Kazuma Okamoto, who set a new MLB record for a Japanese right-handed hitter with his 33rd home run a day earlier, singled in the Toronto Blue Jays' 10-1 rout of the Detroit Tigers.
